It’s time to get your tickets to the PPC auction coming up May 4th. The auction is an easy way for you to support the school and have a fantastic evening at the same time. The event starts at 4 pm when we open up for silent auction bidding and start to offer beer and wine for sale. But don’t worry if you can’t make it till a little later. Dinner starts at 6 pm and at that point we start to close the silent auction tables. Some of them stay open till 7 pm! We have some fabulous items donated. We probably have one of the best wine selections you will find at any auction. There are also plenty of family friendly gift certificates such as restaurants, theaters and fairs. We are lucky to have local craftsmen donate items and don’t forget the home-made desserts made by some of Perrydale’s best bakers. You can choose to support individual classes by bidding on the amazing class baskets they are putting together.
There are a few changes to the auction this year you need to be aware of. The auction now falls on a Friday and it will be held at the beautiful Chemeketa Eola Events Center. This is located in West Salem, just up the hill from Hwy. 22, at 215 Doaks Ferry Rd. If you haven’t been there before, you are in for a treat. It’s a peaceful spot with expansive views over the valley. The other change is that we are offering two different ticket options this year. For $25 you get entry to the auction including dinner. If you want to just attend part of the auction then we offer an entry only ticket for $5. Please be advised that check out will not be available till around 8:15 pm, so if you leave early you need to arrange for somebody else to pick up and pay for your purchases. Tickets are available in the office or a form can be downloaded from our website at https://www.perrydaleparentsclub.com and then mailed to Perrydale Parents’ Club, PO Box 305, Dallas, OR 97338. Please purchase your tickets by April 30th, as only a few will be available at the door. We will again provide free childcare for a limited number of children, but they must be pre-registered in the office.
We are still working on funding requests from the school. Recently, we have helped with the 8th grade field trip, the 6th grade field trip to OMSI, the 6th grade sleepover at Evergreen, and the 7th grade field trip to Newport. We still have funding left in the budget for other field trips as well. Besides funding field trips, we provided cakes for Dr. Seuss’s birthday celebration for all the students during lunch one day and for Random Acts of Kindness week, we brought in mandarins for every student. We also made lunch for the staff on Valentines Day to show our appreciation of everything they do! Our next meeting is on May 10th, at 7:45 am in the Old Gym. Please join us!
We recently received a $2,000 Rural Community Grant from Northwest Farm Credit Services to go towards the greenhouse. If you know of other funding sources, please let us know and help us access them. We can’t do this in a vacuum. We rely on the whole community for support. Thank you to everyone who has helped out this year, and we hope to see you at the auction!
